Terms & Conditions

Version 1.2 - Effective 5 September 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Afterlap iOS app, backend services, and website at afterlap.app, together the Service. By using Afterlap, you agree to these Terms.

1. Provider and contact

Questions, complaints, support requests, privacy requests, and legal notices can be sent to afterlap.app@gmail.com.

2. What Afterlap does

Afterlap is an activity-title and description companion service. With your authorization, Afterlap connects to your own Strava account, processes newly created activities, and can update the title, description, or both according to your settings. Writing styles may include Roast, Clean, Coach, Hype, Poetic, and Story, and you can choose the output language. Afterlap can also write an optional weekly training summary into one of your activities when you enable it.

To turn your workout facts into readable text, Afterlap sends a compact, activity-derived summary to a third-party AI provider that generates the requested text, as described in the Privacy Policy. Afterlap does not use Strava data to train AI or machine-learning models.

Afterlap is designed to complement Strava rather than reproduce Strava's social feed, leaderboards, athlete discovery, or training-log experience.

Generated or formatted output is produced automatically and may be incorrect, incomplete, or unsuitable. You remain responsible for your activity and for deciding whether to keep, edit, or delete text written to it.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Afterlap. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Afterlap only with permission from a parent or legal guardian where required.

4. App license

Subject to these Terms, Afterlap grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by Apple rules. If no custom EULA is provided through App Store Connect, Apple's standard licensed-application end-user license agreement applies.

5. Strava

Afterlap uses the Strava API only after you explicitly authorize access. Strava is a third-party service with its own terms, privacy policy, API agreement, API policy, and brand guidelines. Afterlap is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Strava.

You must not use Afterlap to violate Strava's terms, privacy settings, or authorization controls. You are responsible for the Strava account you connect and for activity text published to that account.

You may disconnect Afterlap inside the app or revoke access from Strava. More information is available on the Strava Integration page.

6. Health and training disclaimer

Afterlap is an activity-captioning and workout-summary tool. It is not medical advice, professional coaching advice, safety advice, or a substitute for your own judgement. Consult a qualified professional before starting or changing an exercise program where appropriate.

7. Free tier and Afterlap Pro

Afterlap may offer a free tier and optional paid Afterlap Pro subscriptions. The current product plan includes the first 20 processed activities at no charge, after which Pro is required for continued Afterlap processing. Exact features, price, currency, billing period, trial eligibility, and renewal details are shown in the app and by Apple before purchase.

Any Afterlap subscription is payment for Afterlap's own functionality. Afterlap does not sell access to the Strava API, Strava subscriptions, or Strava platform features.

7.1 Auto-renewable subscriptions

7.2 Refunds

App Store purchases and refunds are handled by Apple. Afterlap cannot directly issue an App Store refund.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

9. Your content and settings

You remain responsible for your activities, profile, titles, descriptions, and settings. Afterlap does not claim ownership of your activity data or the text created for you, but it needs to process information as described in the Privacy Policy to provide the Service.

10. Availability and third-party services

Afterlap depends on third-party platforms and infrastructure, including Apple, Strava, and hosting/network providers. Features may change, pause, or become unavailable if required by law, platform rules, technical changes, or third-party availability. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

11. Intellectual property

Afterlap owns the app, website, source code, design, product name, branding, and related materials, except for third-party services, marks, and materials owned by their respective owners.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Afterlap is provided as is and as available, without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Output is provided for convenience and may require manual correction.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Afterlap is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, lost training records, subscription interruptions, or third-party platform changes. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

14. Termination

You may stop using Afterlap at any time by disconnecting Strava and deleting the app. Afterlap may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, create legal or security risk, or if required third-party platform access becomes unavailable.

15. Changes to these Terms

Afterlap may update these Terms as the product, law, or third-party platform requirements change. The effective date above shows when this version became effective. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms where permitted by law.
